What’s the best energy gel for Yorkies?

What’s the best Yorkie energy gel?  I have one who isn’t a good eater and gets low blood sugar easily

Most folks in the Yorkie community seem to recommend Nutri-cal as their go-to for blood sugar drops on our tiny Yorkies.

I tend to use Nutri-cal only as an occasional booster – not something I rely on every day for my Yorkie though. I think that better plan for the picky eater is to figure out what they do want to eat and give that instead. Mine will almost always eat if she has a teaspoon of Gerber Chicken and Gravy Baby Food on her kibble.

If her stomach is upset (or her digestive track is upset), I will feed her some canned pumpkin (NOT pumpkin pie filling). This stuff. It’s got a good amount of water in it as well as fiber to help eliminate whichever digestive track issue she is having.

And for my diabetic Yorkie, I always had a honey straw on hand to bring her blood sugar back up in a hurry, if necessary.

I’ve found that generally, my Yorkie’s know what they need. And if they aren’t eating, it is because I’m not giving them what they need. So I try to pay attention to what their eating habits are telling me about their nutritional needs.
