Love following Yorkie Life. My little Gal is 5.5 pounds, 10.5 months. She frequently burps after eating and acts like she is going to vomit, seldom does. She remains playful and it most often settles within a half hour. Does anyone else have this problem?
Great question! I have never experienced this problem – but I wonder if perhaps she is eating too quickly, or gulping her food. As an experiment, try slowing her down. I’ve seen folks talk about putting a soup can in a dog bowl to force the dog to eat around the can and take a little more time with the meal. Obviously for our Yorkies, it would have to be a smaller can but you get the idea.
The other thing I’ve seen folks talk about is increasing the number of meals but keeping the amount of food the same. So if you’re feeding ½ cup twice a day, try ¼ cup four times a day.
