I have a question. I have a yorkie, I put her in the bathroom to potty, then let her back out. I also put her there, when I leave. She uses the disposable blue pads to pee, but she poop on the floor. Help, any suggestions to get her to use the pads for both? PS- she’s an old dog…
Great question! Potty training our Yorkies is always a challenge. The trick, I suspect, is to help her to know that pooping on the pad is preferred. And the key to that is consistency and for you to be aware of when she needs to poop and confining her to the pad until she does – then praising her profusely. This will take more than a few successes and is a fair amount of work on your part. I detailed quite a few training methods here: “Potty Train a Yorkie.”
